Cultural Course (visa interview preparatory course, optional for visa subjects)

This course is intended for students to support their visa application process. The course gives an introduction to life in Hungary, a crash course on the traditions, rules, and customs in the country, and how to best settle into their new home. We will make sure to cover as much of the basics to give newcomers to Hungary as much insight and local knowledge as they would need for a seamless settling-in.

  • Programme variations

The Engineering University Preparatory Programme is available in two durations or intensities.

    Normal programme

This course will cover the course materials required for university entrance exams over the course of 32 weeks, split over two semesters. The programme begins in September 2023, and runs through May 2024, just ahead of the entrance exams at numerous engineering universities.

The programme begins with an intensive review of mathematical topics. Once the essentials have been covered, the programme’s focus switches to the physics curriculum. As the topics are explored in depth, the teachers make sure that the mathematical foundations and the physics applications are covered in a synchronised manner, affording learners a better understanding of the course material.

The programme format allows learners to get a more in-depth insight into the course material, and to maximise their chances of a successful university admission exam at the university of their choice. The full, two-semester long programme allows for more exam practice, with more feedback for the learners.

  • Small group courses

Our most popular format with our learners, This format allows 3 to 5 learners to study together, under the guidance of our teaching staff, for an excellent learning experience.

Learning in small groups of 3 to 5 learners allows us to discover where our learners may have difficulties more effectively and efficiently than in personalised courses. Learning is about making mistakes and correcting them. More people are likely to make more mistakes, so we will be able to spot and correct more of these. With small groups, everyone in the group can learn from each others’ mistakes, whilst ensuring that everyone gets personalised attention, and does not get lost in a large crowd. This is why this format is the teacher’s choice of Pannonia International College.

    Group composition

Learning groups are assembled from applicants based on the outcome of their level test they completed at the application. We aim to assign each learner to a learning group which will best support their learn- ing experience. For this reason, Pannonia International College may advise the learner to join a different group if a better alternative exists.

    Classwork and scheduling

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to comply with government regulations and to safeguard the health and well-being of our staff and learners, currently all academic activities take place online, out of our Head Office in Budapest. This means that all of our classes are 100% interactive, but take place via the internet. As soon as the regulations and circumstances shall allow it, we will return to face-to-face education from our Learning Centre. This circumstance affects the scheduling of our courses as well.

Currently, we assemble groups whilst considering their geographic location as well. This is to ensure that they can participate in online classes. When we schedule classes, we try to make sure that classes take place at the same time on each day.

    Performance assessment

Our teachers monitor the progress of the learners and provide feedback continuously. Additionally, periodical individual performance assessments are also carried out, where further feedback is given to the learners about their progress.

    Availability

Currently, Engineering University Preparatory Programme, Business and Economics University Preparatory Programme, and English Language Improvement Programme are available in the small group format.

  • Personalised courses

Our most flexible option for learners who know exactly what they need. Individual learning un- der the guidance of our teaching staff, for a personalised, outstanding learning experience.

Personalised courses are aimed at learners who have special requirements for their learning experience, or a very specific goal in mind: graduating secondary school, getting admitted to university, or whatever their reason may be, we can tailor our courses to satisfy their needs.

Customised education according to the needs of the learner

Our personalised courses are aimed at individual learners who will do their very best through affording them the one-on-one attention they need. This format allows great flexibility, both in terms of curriculum and pace of studies.
